Wolftank Adisa presents its heavy corrossion protection solution: the company launches Epoflex® 6J. This new coating really marks a big milestone in the Wolftank Adisa product portfolio, due to its heavy corrossion protection. It is the first epoxy phenolic coating for heavy corrosion defense and inside coating of tanks, vessels, and pipes. And its design is especial for the transport and the storage of fuels.
Epoflex® 6J and its application in the aviation sector
This new coating solution for heavy corrossion is approved according to the EI1541 standard stablished by the Energy Institute for the tank inside coating of jet fuel tanks for civil aviation. This association is the professional member for the energy industry. It supports 23000 individuals and 250 companies in the energy sector. Among the firms following the standard and prescribing these linings are all the major oil companies, including ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, Total, Statoil, ENI, Saudi Aramco, and many others.
As expected, the tank and pipe coating demand for the jet fuel storage tanks increased since the introduction of the EI1541 standard. According to it, all tanks containing jet fuel in airports, hangars and tank farms need a internal coating for aviation safety. Also the cleanliness of the jet fuel. Moreover, this is valid for underground tanks as well as for above ground tanks. Besides the floor, pipes and roof constructions are also often protected against arising corrosion.
But Epoflex® 6J is not only an excellent solution for the heavy corrosion protection of new steel floors or tanks. It is also appropriate for the refurbishment of jet fuel tanks with corrosion. It allows to avoid a steel floor reconstruction. Due to the possibility to build a high film thickness, the coating can compensate corrosion attributed to pit corrosion. As well inside pit corrosion as underfloor pit corrosion. This makes it unique enabling long lifetime and minimum interruption of operation. While the heavy corrossion is completelly under control!
